Our Story

Juniper, a branch of Donaromas, opened in March of 2020 by creator Aubrey Sirois (original owner of Aubrey Maria Designs) as a way to provide flowers and art to those on the island.  Located in Edgartown, Juniper has evolved into a staple within the community featuring gift boxes, plants, flowers, and artistic creations from local artisans.

The cornerstone of Juniper has been it’s collaborations with other local small businesses and artists to help provide customers with a well-rounded assortment of products that showcase all that our beautiful island has to offer.  With the leadership of Donaroma’s, an Island staple that is family-run and spans multiple generations, Juniper will be expanding it’s retail space and offering more to the community than ever before!

Currently featured partnerships include, but are not limited to, the following vendors:

  • JK Design Co. – “A ceramics and design company born and based on Martha’s Vineyard. The handmade ceramics utilize sandy clay and a coastal palette of glazes reminiscent of the Vineyard lifestyle. The signature gold series features a 22K gold-plated silhouette of Martha’s Vineyard. Each piece is designed to marry form and function in order to become a beautiful and well-loved memento of an island summer.” ·

  • Chilmark Coffee - A family team specializing in small-batch coffee roasting on the island. They bring their own experiences as artists/ businesspersons/ athletes together to create a coffee company that reflects the values of hard work, planning, exceptional product, style, and uncompromising vision.

  • Mimi Hot Sauce - Mark and Cathy Peters are the owners and longtime hot sauce creators. They have been making hot sauces, jams, and more in their home kitchen for years. There’s no outsourcing this product, Mimi’s Hittin’ the Sauce is truly made 100% on-Island. Whether it’s the garden tomatoes and peppers hand-picked by Mark, the cooking of the sauces in a certified, undisclosed kitchen on-Island, or the hand-labeling until late hours of the night, it’s the pride in their work that makes the sauces even more delicious. The sauces are 100% made on M.V. — a labor of love and effort that’s worth every penny.

  • Linda Lealley Jams - Linda’s jams are an act of grace; every season, Linda is out collecting flowers and berries for her jellies and jams, from handpicking elderberries at Priesters Pond, Rosa Rugosa petals from roses native to the island, or beach plums, she washes, peels, cuts, and chops, then adds lemon, ginger- spices and of course, sugar to make each recipe sing. She makes over 20 different flavors. It’s not just, “Hey, here’s the jam . . .” She carefully sets, labels, dates the bottom of each, and adds the fabric and ribbon cover. She can make jams and jellies with personalized labels for weddings, baby showers, christenings, birthdays — or any special event. The label can match the color of the bridesmaid dresses, or become a favorite color of the honoree.

  • Island Bee Co. - Island Bee Company is a locally owned family apiary on Martha’s Vineyard selling all things honeybee. Stop by our market to taste the award-winning raw honey, or buy the healing beeswax lotions and potions made with the five raw products that a honeybee hive produces: honey, beeswax, pollen, propolis, and royal jelly.

  • MV02557 - established over a decade ago, Beth Thigith resides in Oak Bluffs where she runs her business from her home studio. She handmakes small batches of soy wax candles and natural body products. Proud to operate out of Martha's Vineyard and be female and veteran-owned, her company aims to support and connect with other local shops in order to maintain a thriving small business community on the island.

  • Alena Grady - An artist we are lucky enough to claim as an islander, Alena was originally from Northwest Russia. In her early twenties she found herself residing on Martha's Vineyard, the place she’s been calling home for over a decade now. Having several art degrees she toyed with the idea of studying illustration, but at the time she chose to be pragmatic, started a family, and nearly gave up on her love for creating. When the pandemic hit, it focused and gathered her courage to explore painting, and she fell in love with the broadened capabilities of capturing the views she’s surrounded by every day. She considers herself lucky when it comes to art, the island has provided the resources to learn and create, including the abundance of subjects that she chooses to reflect in her paintings. She loves the pace of island life and often tries to capture the peace and serenity of being near the ocean, woods, and small fishing towns.
